One idea. Thirty days of content.

The blank page is where content strategies go to die. You sit down on Monday, think “I should post something,” scroll your feed for inspiration, feel inadequate, and close the tab. By Thursday you’ve posted nothing.

Here’s a method that takes 5 minutes and turns a single idea into a full month of content. No AI required for the first pass (though AI makes step 3 faster).

Step 1: Pick one thing your audience needs to hear (2 minutes)

Not ten things. Not a content pillar framework. One thing.

Examples:

  • “Your Instagram bio is probably losing you followers”
  • “Most product descriptions read like spec sheets”
  • “You’re sending emails at the wrong time”

The best ideas come from questions your customers actually ask you. Check your DMs, your email replies, your FAQ page. The question someone asked you last week? That’s your one thing.

Step 2: Slice it into 6 angles (1 minute)

Take your one thing and break it into these six formats:

  1. The tip: One actionable piece of advice (e.g. “Put your niche in your bio, not your name”)
  2. The mistake: What people get wrong (e.g. “Your bio says ‘coffee lover’ but your audience wants ‘specialty coffee roaster in Brisbane'”)
  3. The story: How you or a client learned this the hard way
  4. The data: A stat that proves the point (even anecdotal data from your own business)
  5. The checklist: 3-5 items to audit yourself against
  6. The hot take: A slightly controversial opinion that starts conversation

You now have 6 distinct pieces of content from one idea.

Step 3: Multiply by platform (2 minutes)

Each of those 6 angles can become 3-5 posts depending on the platform:

  • Instagram post: Carousel version of the checklist
  • Instagram Reel: 30-second hot take, face-to-camera
  • Email: The full story version, 200-300 words
  • LinkedIn: The data point as a text post
  • TikTok: The mistake as a “stop doing this” video

That’s roughly 18-30 content pieces from one idea. For a month of posting 5 days a week, you need about 20-22 pieces. You just built your entire content calendar.

The AI accelerator

If you want to speed this up, feed your one thing into Claude or ChatGPT with this prompt:

“I run a [type of business]. My audience struggles with [one thing]. Generate 6 content angles: one tip, one mistake, one story, one data point, one checklist, and one hot take. For each angle, write a 1-sentence hook I can use as a post caption.”

You’ll get a full content calendar in about 30 seconds. Edit the hooks to sound like you, schedule the posts, and you’re done for the month.

The trick is the system, not the idea

Most content advice tells you to “batch create” or “repurpose strategically.” Those are true but they don’t help on a Tuesday morning when you have nothing. This method works because it starts with something you already know (one thing your audience needs) and mechanically produces content from it.

You don’t need inspiration. You need a system. This one takes 5 minutes and produces a month of posts.
