Canva Just Made Vibe Coding Editable. That Changes Who Can Actually Ship Something.

Canva Code 2.0, which rolled out to all 265 million Canva users this week, takes a different approach. You still type a prompt and get a working interactive website, app, or presentation. But once it is generated, you can edit it the same way you edit any Canva design. Click into text and retype. Drag in your own photos from Canva’s library. Change colours and fonts from the toolbar. Select an element and refine it through a conversation with Canva AI. No code window. No re-prompting loop.

- Drag-and-drop editing inside generated sites. Click any text block and type. Swap images from Canva’s 120 million asset library. Change colours and fonts using the same toolbar you already know from Canva. No need to touch code or re-prompt.
- HTML import from any AI coding tool. Built something in Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, or ChatGPT? Paste the HTML and Canva converts it into a fully editable design. This turns Canva into a finishing layer for every other vibe coding tool on the market.
- 50+ new templates for interactive designs. Conference sites, product pages, interactive presentations, calculators, visualizers. Start from a template instead of a blank prompt.
- Embed Code projects inside other Canva designs. Drop an interactive calculator into a sales deck. Add a product visualizer to a whiteboard. Code projects become design elements you can place anywhere.
- 75 percent faster generation. Canva says average code generation time dropped by three quarters, and the median time from first prompt to published site dropped by 30 percent.
- Real-time collaboration. Multiple people editing the same project at the same time, with comments inline. Same collaboration model as every other Canva project.
- Responsive output with mobile preview. Every generated site automatically adapts to screen sizes, with a built-in mobile preview so you can check before publishing.
- Custom domains or free Canva domains. Publish to your own domain, use a free Canva subdomain, or keep it private within your organisation.
Why This Matters More Than Another AI Coding Tool
Most vibe coding tools share the same bottleneck. They generate functional code that looks identical to every other AI-generated site. Same Tailwind defaults. Same placeholder aesthetics. What You Can Actually Build
Canva Code 2.0 is not just for landing pages. The templates and interactive capabilities are designed for things that regular Canva designs cannot do:

That is a real constraint if you want to shuffle sections around or change the entire page structure without starting over.
The free tier gets access to Code 2.0, which is significant. But generation limits, template selection, and collaboration features will likely differ across Canva’s free, Pro, and Enterprise tiers. Check the specifics before building your entire workflow around it.
And there is the broader question of whether Canva’s output quality matches what a skilled developer could build with a dedicated vibe coding tool. The answer is probably “not for complex applications, but yes for the kind of marketing sites, product pages, and interactive presentations that most small businesses actually need.”
How to Use It Starting Now
Open Canva and look for the Code option in the editor sidebar. Type a prompt describing what you want. “Build me a product launch page for a candle brand with a countdown timer and email signup form” will get you further than “make a website.”
Once it generates, do not re-prompt for text changes. Click directly into any text block and type. Want your brand colours? Open the colour picker. Need your product photos? Drag them from the sidebar. This is the whole point. The editing surface is where the real work happens.
If you have already built something in another tool, copy the HTML and paste it into Canva’s import. You will get a fully editable version that you can style with your brand kit, share with your team, and publish on a custom domain. That workflow alone is worth trying.
